Here is a little background on us…

Dan Sokyrka started training under a goldsmith in 1985, while residing on the Central California coast.  As he learned more and more, Dan found his love for designing and creating original works, often starting from just an idea a client provided him.  Dan enjoys adding a personal touch to commissioned works, and he gains great satisfaction in the reality of a finished piece of jewelry that is to be cherished for generations.

In 1986, Dan had the opportunity to attend classes at the Revere Jewelry Academy in San Francisco, CA.  Afterward, while continuing his apprenticeship, he studied at GIA (Gemological institute of America) in Santa Monica, CA,  completing their 6 month on-site Jewelry Manufacturing Arts program.  Dan graduated as one of the top in his class in 1987.   He then took GIA’s Diamonds and Diamond grading course.

Dan subsequently began working as the bench jeweler/goldsmith at a large jewelry store in San luis Obispo, CA, before moving to Southern Oregon to serve as the manager and jeweler of another fine jewelry store.   He opened his first jewelry store in Arroyo Grade, CA in 1993, and Diamond Concepts was born.  Dan has owned a retail store ever since, and he is grateful to his wife Gina, who helps and supports him like no other.
